Noboa Naranjo (LANN) Museum presents the photographic exhibition entitled “Original Sin”, by Ivette Ruiz, from Guayaquil, who, in this first exhibition displays still-life, portraits and nudes that take as their reference the well-known works of photographers such as Franco Fontana, Eduardo Steichen and Jan Saudek.

With the fundamental aim of supporting and encouraging Ecuadorian painters, the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum organises expositions in which they can exhibit their works.

NEW PAINTINGS EXHIBITION "APPROACHES" |

The exhibition of paintings by the winning artists of guayaquil’s 1st biennale of painting “Luis A. Noboa Naranjo” – mr. Jimmy Lara, (1st place), mr. Wilson Quichimbo (2nd place), mr. Pedro Davila (3rd place) and miss Jackelin Villamar (honorable mention).
This new display of a variety of works with different approaches on offer to the public includes more than 40 works of art and will be open from june 5 until july 7, 2009, in the museum .
Opening hours: tuesday-friday, 10.30 – 18.00; saturday-sunday, 13.00 – 18.00 (closed on mondays) entrance free!
The general public is cordially invited to appreciate this painting exhibition offered by the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum.

The Guayaquil Biennale of Painting is Born - El Universo Newspaper |

Three cash prizes and four honorable mentions will be given. The exhibition will remain open until approximately next April 20.
It has no intention of competing with the International Painting Biennale of Cuenca because it is not open in various spaces in the city, the competition that has been organized in Guayaquil is “more exquisite” because it is for the museum and brings together the more selective and representative works that respond to the call.

Alvaro Noboa organizes 1st Painting Biennale |

Until today at 19.00, works that will participate in the competition for the three prizes ($3,000, $2,000 and $1,000) of the 1st Painting Biennale “Luis A. Noboa Naranjo” will be received.
The director of the event is Pablo Martinez, who has organized biennales since 1984. This time he represents Alvaro Noboa in his aim to give local artists the recognition they deserve.

The first of the ten salons of the Luis Noboa Naranjo Museum houses a replica of the office that the banana magnate had on the first floor of the Exportadora Banana Noboa, located in this city’s Eloy Alfaro Street.
On his antique oak desk, surrounded by three springy leather chairs, is his favorite leather briefcase, a paperweight in the form of a banana and photographs of Noboa together with Pope John Paul II, former US President George Bush, Sr., and the millionaire, David Rockefeller.
