II Guayaquil Biennale of Painting concludes - El Universo newspaper

After having remained on exhibit for almost two months, the second edition of the Guayaquil Biennale of Painting, this year called the Alvaro Noboa Pontón, will close its doors tomorrow with a ceremony to take place at 7pm on the first floor of the Condor Building, located at the corner of P. Icaza and Córdova.
Both the winning works and those receiving Honorable Mentions, as well as fifty more works admitted by the jury to the competition, have been on display in the Luis A. Noboa Naranjo Museum.
The young artist, Juan Caguana, obtained first place in this competition. Second place went to the Cuban artist living in Guayaquil, Saidel Brito; third place was achieved by the United States painter, Kate Vrijmoet.
Besides them, diplomas were given to the Ecuadorians, William Martínez, Luis Alfonso Montúfar and José Luis Chóez; the Italian Alberto Gallingani; and the Uruguayan, Juanito Compte. Entrance to tomorrow’s activity will be free.
