INAUGURATION OF THE II ALVARO NOBOA INTERNATIONAL BIENNALE OF PAINTING OF GUAYAQUIL
With a speech in an important ceremony to take place TODAY in the Luis Noboa Naranjo Museum, founding president, Álvaro Noboa P. will inaugurate the II Álvaro Noboa International Biennale of Painting of Guayaquil. He will also announce the names of the winners from among the seven finalists (4 Ecuadorians and 3 foreigners) who were selected by a national and international jury.
This International Biennale saw the participation of 285 visual artists from throughout the world, who submitted 387 works, and that together signify, without a doubt, an important cultural contribution to the country.
First place winner will earn $20,000; second place is to receive $10,000l; and third place, $5,000; furthermore, a diploma will be granted to each of the winners, and three Honorable Mentions according to the resolution of the qualifying jury which was made up of prestigious figures from the cultural-artistic world, such as Theo Constante, Larissa Marangoni, Alejandra Rossetti, Mariela Garcia and Joseph Roberts.
From Thursday, April 29, the doors of the Luis Noboa Museum will be open to the general public (entrance free) to enjoy this exceptional display, and to appreciate the talent of the world’s painters, who have captured their reality and dreams in each one of the works with which they participated in this International Biennale.
