Inauguration Speech of the II “Alvaro Noboa Ponton” Biennale
29-Abril-2010
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Art and culture began from the moment humanity existed. It was, is, and will always be necessary for the understanding of people, the growth of man, the evolution of society and its civilization.
Art is the act used by human being to mimic or express material or invisible things, and to create by copying or fantasizing.
Through this display of paintings entitled the II Biennale of Painting, we can state what is taking place right now across the planet, because this is a global exhibition, that gives us the messages of artists from 25 countries.
The displayed works show us with beauty, color and shape the love, the sweetness, the hope and also the violence that exist in our world.
This is an exhibition of art that is here all of the artists of the world. It represents our collaboration to education and serves to motivate people to love beautiful things like art and culture.
It is my aim to unite the countries of the world with this Biennale and to make of our city a global capital of art and culture, the same way as Miami, Venecia, Paris, London, Sao Paolo and New York.
Thank you for your support and your presence tonight. I hereby inaugurate the II Guayaquil International Biennale of Painting.
